Tales from The Golden Age I opens the first edition of Iasi International Film Festival | 8/20/2009
Tales from the Golden Age I – wrote by Cristian Mungiu and directed by Ioana Uricaru, Hanno Hoefer, Razvan Marculescu, Contantin Popescu and Cristian Mungiu – will be screened at the opening Gala of the first edition of Iasi International Film Festival - IIFF, who will take place from September 25 until – October 3.
The Gala will take place on September 25, from 20,00 at Victoria Cinema.
Tales from the Golden Age adapts for screen the most popular urban myths of the period. Comic, bizarre, surprising myths abounded, myths that drew on the often surreal events of everyday life under the communist regime.
The movie combines six stories and will be screened in two parts. At IIFF it will be screened the first part – Tales of Authority - with four episodes: "The legend of the zealous activist", "The legend of the party photographer", "The legend of the greedy policeman" and "The legend of the official visit".
The actors Vlad Ivanov, Diana Cavaliotti, Radu Iacoban, Tania Popa, Alexandru Potocean, Emanuel Parvu, Paul Dunca, Ion Sapdaru and Gabriel Spahiu are, among others, in the film’s distribution.
Tales from the Golden Age was screened, this year, at Cannes International Film festival, in the Un Certain Regard section. Also, the movie was screened in the opening of the Sarajevo International Film Festival and in festivals like La Rochelle International Film Festival, Munchen Film Festival, Melbourne Film Festival and Norwegian Film Festival.
